The Flemish Association for Psychotherapeutic Psychotherapy is pleased to announce that its next study day will be entirely devoted to play. Prof. Nicole Vliegen (Leuven University, Belgium) and psychodynamic therapist Liselotte Grünbaum (Aalborg University, Denmark and EFPP C&A Section Delegate) zoom in on what is so essential to the work of every child psychotherapist. Play and activity are the communication tools of choice for children and adolescents we meet in our clinical practice.
They offer us a glimpse into their experiential world that is both revealing and concealing. The complexity and enigma of therapeutic play challenges the therapist in her ‘playful’ presence, in her thinking and acting, in search of an understanding that we will never fully reach. Or can we…. ?
